1st BE-LIGHT School and Mid-term Check Meeting have taken place
✨📚 The first BE-LIGHT school was a success in Göttingen!
For the first time, the recruited researchers from each project came together 🤝.
They had the opportunity to get to know each other in depth and gain valuable insights 🧠 from the introductory courses delivered by their supervisors and other researchers 👩🏫👨🏫 (over 15 in total) during the intensive sessions held on October 1st and 2nd 📅.
The courses they attended, such as the basics of optics 🔬, high-resolution microscopy 🖼️, image processing, and Deep Learning 🤖, can be found in the school program here:
They also took part in two intensive workshops 🛠️ led by Dr. Lipp (a scientists’ coach) on effective communication 🗣️ and best practices in research and publishing 📑. These were held on October 3rd.
On October 4th, the mid-term check-in with the European project officer took place, followed by a wonderful tour 🚶♂️ of Göttingen, where we explored the historic city center 🏰 and learned about the city’s important role in the early developments of physics ⚛️, mathematics ➕, and scientific thought 🧬.
Beyond the knowledge gained 📚, the most valuable outcome was the stronger connections built among members of the various research groups 🤗, especially among the recruited researchers, who will lead the future of research in photonics and artificial intelligence 💡🤖.
